We specialize in various 8 inch Ford third member builds, using both original Ford cases and new 8 inch Nodular cases. Our builds also include limited-slip differentials such as billit trac lok, eaton tru trac, grizzly lockers and spools. While the factory 8 inch rears come with a standard 1310 series yoke featuring 1 1/8" diameter caps and 28 spline axles, we can offer some stronger aftermarket options with a posi unit and 31 spline capability.
Included with every third member is a fresh housing gasket, and our Trac-Lok units are equipped with a friction modifier. Our third members are constructed using top-of-the-line gears sourced from either Motive or US Gear.
Our location in New Jersey serves as a hub for shipping these units to destinations worldwide.
Our reconditioned Ford case has been thoroughly cleaned, glass-bead and painted, including the pinion support and yoke. All internal components are brand new and include bearings, seal, o-ring, crush collar, ring gear bolts and pinion nut. For our 8 inch third member options, we offer either a Billet Trac-Lok or Eaton True-Trac. Additionally, customers can choose from grizzly lockers or spools. We have a variety of Motive performance series gears in stock ranging from 3.00 to 4.62 ratios. Alternatively, we also carry used Ford 2.79 ratio gears. To upgrade your third member even further, we offer a Billet aluminum big bearing pinion support and a Billit steel yoke as options.
We also offer brand new Nodular cases, pinion supports, and yokes for street enthusiasts with higher performance demands.
The Trac-Lok is a clutch type differential, and comes with Friction Modifier for optimal performance. It operates smoothly and quietly, making it well-suited for street use. Similarly, the Eaton True-Trac also boasts a quiet experience on the streets, and is particularly recommended for road racing. The Detroit Locker, on the other hand, is a mechanical clutch type differential that can be quite aggressive on the street. However, this may result in increased noise while turning, as it unlocks when one wheel turns at a different speed than the other. All types of carriers, including differentials, function in the same way. Limited slip and posi are essentially identical.
All 8 inch rear assemblies are equipped with the same 1310 series yoke, which features 1 1/8" diameter u joint caps as stated before.
